On Friday around 6:30 p.m. Rescue 42 and Engine and Ambulance 06 were dispatched to Providence Rd. and Springfield Rd. in Aldan for an accident with entrapment. Units arrived to find a motorcycle down in the highway and the rider pinned under an SUV at the rear passenger side tire. Captain Frank Benson (42-12) took command and Lt. Mike Boyle (06-13a) was designated operations officer and with the assistance of the crew from 06-1 Rescue 42 went in service with stabilzation via cribbing and high lift jacks and lifted the vehicle utilizing rescue airbags . With a quick and coordinated plan of extrication EMS and Rescue crews went to work and freed the rider within minutes. Medic 06-7 packaged and transported the rider to the hospital. Crews were on scene for approximately 45 minutes with operations and clean-up.
