On Saturday morning the 42 house was called for service early in Aldan for a lift assist. A resident was without power from the recent storms limiting the use of a power chair.
Later in the afternoon Company 42, Company 06, Company 09 (Sharon Hill), Company 75 (Briarcliffe), Company 21 (Darby #2), and RIT 44 (Springfield) were alerted to a building fire with entrapment at 215 Lincoln Ave. While enroute units were notified of multiple calls, a possible child still inside, and police reporting smoke in the building. Quint 06, Engine 42, and 2nd Asst. Chief Kilroy arrived to a three story twin with nothing showing. Asst. Chief Hanly (06-9a) and Captain Benson (42-12) entered the building with crews from Qt06 and E42. All occupants were confirmed to have evacuated the residence. A burnt fan motor was found to be the source of smoke on the third floor. Crews returned within ten minutes.
Later that same evening the Darby building response, Company 04, Company 21, and Company 42, was struck for the building fire at 500 Pine St. Engine 42 responded under the command of 2nd Asst. Chief Kilroy and while enroute Chief Caruso (04-9) was relayed a report from police advising heavy smoke in the multi-occupancy building. On arrival of Engine 42 police reported recovering a smoke bomb that was set off in a hallway. Engine 42 and Engine 04-2 ran a fan and cleared the building of residual smoke.
Finally, early Sunday morning Engine 06-1 and Engine 42 ran a smoke detector activation in the 600 block of Clifton Avenue. On arrival the resident reported no problems and it was determined the call was in a different town. Companies returned without incident.
